How Often Should You Schedule a Professional Cleaning?

“How often should I book?” I get this question from almost every new client. The honest answer is that it depends on your household, but after ten-plus years of cleaning homes around Kissimmee and Osceola County, I have a pretty good sense of what works for different situations.

Weekly

Weekly cleaning is ideal if you have young kids, multiple pets, or a larger home, anything over about 2,500 square feet. I also recommend it for families where both adults work full time and there’s just no bandwidth for keeping up during the week.

With weekly service, your home stays in a constant state of “ready.” Kitchens and bathrooms stay sanitized. Dust never gets a chance to build up. A lot of my clients who entertain often go with weekly because they don’t want to think about whether the house is presentable: it just is.

Biweekly

This is what most of my clients choose, and for good reason. If you’re a couple or a small family, maybe one pet or none, and you do some light tidying between visits, biweekly hits the sweet spot between cost and results. Homes in the 1,200 to 2,500 square foot range, which covers a huge number of the homes and townhouses around Kissimmee, Poinciana, and St. Cloud, do really well on this schedule.

Monthly

Monthly works best for people living alone or couples without pets, smaller apartments and condos, or seasonal residents who want the home freshened up between visits. I see this a lot with the vacation rental owners near Disney and along US-192: they want a professional reset but don’t need full recurring service.

It’s more of a tune-up than an ongoing maintenance plan.

Florida makes everything harder

I always tell people: whatever frequency you’d pick if you lived somewhere with mild weather, go one step up for Central Florida.

Humidity grows mold and mildew faster than you’d think, especially in bathrooms and closets. Pollen is year-round here, with no winter break like up north. Sandy soil tracks in constantly, and if you live near any of the construction happening along US-27 or around the new developments in Davenport, that fine dust gets into everything. Your HVAC runs almost all year, so if vents aren’t wiped regularly, dust just recirculates.

My recommendation

Start with biweekly. After two or three visits, you’ll know if you need to bump up to weekly or if monthly would work. I adjust schedules without any penalty: the goal is finding the rhythm that actually works for your home and your life.
